XVIII Century
This was worn slung over
the right shoulder. Of
red morocco, the outer
face of which is covered
with red velvet richly
embroidered in silver
thread showing foliation
and trophies arranged
in medallions. Following
the borders are series
of close-set silver disks
strung on wire. At mouth
of sword loop is a silver
buckle; buttonhole near
mouth of loop for holding
sword in position.

In splendid preservation.
Of cream-colored silk,
bordered with gold thread,
and richly embroidered
with gold in a series
of car- touches enclosing
conventionalized flower
and brilliants. V-shaped
sword loop suspended from
side; a buttonhole is
present for securing the
scabbard. Buckle lacking.
